Refund Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains when MUA Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) refunds money, when we cannot, and who to ask instead. It applies to subscriptions you buy from us for the MUA Studio platform (the “Service”).
Where you bought your subscription decides who can refund it. There are three separate situations and they are not interchangeable:
- You subscribed on our website and paid us by card through Stripe. We are the merchant, and sections 2 to 5 apply.
- You subscribed inside the iOS or Android app. Apple or Google is the merchant, and section 6 applies.
- A client paid you for makeup services. You are the merchant, and section 7 applies.
2. Web Subscriptions Bought Directly From Us
Subscriptions purchased on muastudio.co are billed by MUA Studio through Stripe, our payment processor. We are the merchant of record for these charges. Plans are $4 per user per month, billed monthly or annually, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel at any time. You can cancel from your billing settings without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
- You keep what you paid for. After you cancel, paid features stay available until the end of the period you already paid for. Your account then moves to the free tier. Your data stays where it is.
- No automatic pro-rata refund. We do not automatically refund the unused part of a monthly or annual period when you cancel mid-period. You keep the access instead.
- How to ask for a refund. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and tell us what happened. A person reads it.
3. Our Refund Window
We would rather give the money back than keep a subscription somebody regrets. Two commitments, both concrete:
- First-time subscriptions: full refund within 14 days of your first payment, for any reason. You do not have to justify it.
- Renewals: full refund within 14 days of a renewal charge if you have not used the Service since that charge. “Used” means signing in to the app or web app, or your booking page taking a booking, after the renewal date.
Refunds go back to the card that was charged and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. When we refund a subscription, paid features end at the same time and the account returns to the free tier.
Outside these windows we are not obliged to refund, but ask anyway if something went wrong on our side. Billing mistakes, duplicate charges, and periods where the Service was unusable because of an outage on our end are refunded regardless of the date.
4. Right of Withdrawal in the EU and UK
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason. This right sits alongside the commitments in section 3, and it is not reduced by them.
When you buy a subscription and start using the Service straight away, you are asking us to begin supplying the service during that 14 day period, and you acknowledge that you lose the statutory right of withdrawal once the service has been fully supplied. In practice, our own 14 day refund commitment in section 3 is at least as generous, so you can rely on it either way.
To withdraw, email [email protected] with your account email and a statement that you are withdrawing from the contract. We will confirm and process the refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your notice.
5. Free Tier, Trials, and Downgrades
- Free tier: there is no charge, so there is nothing to refund. You can stay on it indefinitely.
- Free trials: no charge is taken during a trial. Cancel before it ends and you are never billed. If you cancel partway through a trial, any unused part of it is forfeited.
- Downgrades: moving from a paid tier to the free tier costs nothing. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund the difference for the current period.
6. App Store and Google Play Purchases
Subscriptions bought inside the iOS or Android app are sold by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or hold that money, and we cannot issue a refund for it. Apple and Google set their own refund rules and make their own decisions.
- Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID that made the purchase. You can also manage or cancel the subscription in Settings under your Apple ID.
- Google Play: open Google Play order history, find the subscription, and use the refund request flow there. You can also manage or cancel it under Payments and subscriptions.
If Apple or Google turns down a request and you think we got something wrong, write to [email protected]. We cannot overturn their decision, but we can look at your account and sometimes fix the underlying problem.
7. Payments You Take From Your Own Clients
When a client pays you through your booking page, the money goes to your own Stripe, Square, or Razorpay account. MUA Studio deducts no commission and no platform fee from those payments, and we are not the merchant on those charges. You are. We never hold your clients’ funds.
That means we cannot refund a client on your behalf, and we will not. If a client asks us for their money back, we will point them to you.
- Your cancellation policy governs. Deposits, late cancellations, and no-show charges are settled between you and your client under the policy you publish and the contract you send.
- You issue the refund. Use your payment provider’s dashboard, or the refund controls in MUA Studio where your provider supports them. The refund comes out of your balance.
- Disputes are yours. Chargebacks, dispute fees, and any consumer-protection obligations on charges you take belong to you and your payment provider, as set out in section 7 of our Terms of Use.
8. Chargebacks
If a charge from us looks wrong, email [email protected] before disputing it with your bank. We can usually sort it out in a day, and a refund reaches you faster than a chargeback does.
Filing a chargeback locks the payment while the bank investigates, which can take weeks, and it costs us a dispute fee whatever the outcome. We may suspend the account a disputed charge belongs to until the dispute is resolved. We will not suspend an account over a refund request made to us directly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. If a change reduces your rights under it, we will tell you by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the version that applied on the day you paid is the one that governs that payment.
10. Contact
For anything about a charge, a refund, or this policy:
- Email: [email protected]
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under consumer law in your country that cannot be waived by agreement.
