Getting Started
What should I set up first?
Open the Home tab and follow the setup checklist. Add your services, set up your booking website, and connect Stripe if you want to collect card payments online. Adding a few clients early makes bookings and quotes faster to create.
How is the app organized?
There are four tabs. Home shows your upcoming bookings, setup checklist, booking link, and notifications. Calendar shows your schedule by month or day. Analytics shows earnings trends, website visits, and top clients. Profile holds your account, stats, subscription, settings, and the My Work menu.
What is My Work?
My Work is the menu on the Profile tab that opens each working area: Bookings, Quotes, Clients, Services, Portfolio, Intake Forms, and Website.
How do I add my services?
Go to Profile > My Work > Services and tap +. Set the name, category, price, duration, and buffer time. Each service can have an optional deposit and can be toggled active or inactive. Add-ons are extras with their own price.
What does the Home tab show?
Home shows your upcoming bookings, a setup checklist while you get started, a card with your booking link ready to share, and a notification bell. The + button creates a new booking, client, or quote.
Can I import my existing clients?
Bulk import is not available. Add clients from the + button on the Home tab, or add them inline while creating a booking or quote.
Clients
How do I add a new client?
Tap + on the Home tab and choose New Client, or add a client inline while creating a booking or quote. You can store a photo, email, phone number, and Instagram handle.
What does a client profile store?
Contact details, a photo, skin type, undertone, Fitzpatrick scale, and your notes. The profile also shows session history, linked bookings and invoices, and lifetime spend.
What is the skin profile for?
Skin type, undertone, and Fitzpatrick scale are reference details for planning products and shades before a session.
How do I find a client quickly?
Open Clients from My Work and search by name. Each profile links to the client's bookings and invoices.
How do I prepare for a repeat client?
Open the client profile before the appointment. Review your notes, skin details, past sessions, and any linked invoices.
Bookings & Calendar
How do I create a booking?
Tap + and choose New Booking. Pick the client, add one or more services, set the date, time, and location, then save. Bookings are also created when a client confirms a quote or books through your website.
How do booking statuses work?
Bookings are pending, confirmed, completed, or cancelled. Pending bookings are waiting on confirmation. Completed and cancelled bookings stay in your history.
How do I find a past or upcoming booking?
Open Bookings from My Work. Filter by status, client, service, or date, or use search. The Calendar tab shows the same bookings by month or day.
How do deposits work on bookings?
You can request a deposit on any booking and set a custom amount. When Stripe is connected, the client pays the deposit online by card.
What are check-in and complete session?
Open the booking when your client arrives and tap Check In. When you finish, complete the session to mark the booking completed.
How do invoices work with bookings?
Each booking can have an invoice attached. Open the booking to view the invoice, record payment, or void it. When Stripe is connected, clients can pay online.
What are booking agreements?
Booking agreements let a client accept your terms before the appointment. The client verifies with a one-time code sent to their email and accepts or signs electronically. A signed PDF is stored with the booking, along with a record of the exact terms that were accepted.
Can I send an intake form for a booking?
Yes. Open the booking and send an intake form to the client. They fill it in before the appointment and you can review the submission from the booking.
Quotes
How do I create a quote?
Tap + and choose New Quote. The wizard walks you through picking a client, adding services and add-ons, setting the event date and location, writing a message, and adding a deposit, discounts, or fees.
How does my client see a quote?
Every quote has a shareable public link. Send it by text, email, or DM. The client opens the link, reviews the details, and confirms or declines.
What are the quote statuses?
Quotes are draft, sent, confirmed, or declined. Drafts are private to you. Sent quotes are waiting on the client. Confirmed quotes become bookings.
Can I edit a quote?
Yes. Open the quote to change the services, pricing, dates, or message.
Can I add a discount or extra fee?
Yes. Quotes support discounts as well as fees and surcharges, so the total the client sees matches what you actually charge.
What happens when a client confirms a quote?
The quote is marked confirmed and becomes a booking, with the client, services, date, and pricing carried over.
Booking Website
What is my booking website?
A personal public page at yourname.muastudio.co where clients can view your services and book you. Set it up from Profile > My Work > Website.
What can I customize on my booking website?
Open any page in the Website editor to see the settings that apply there. You can edit names, introductions, page headings, navigation, services, availability, policies, social links, client sign-in, and whether checkout asks for no payment, a deposit, or full payment.
How does availability work?
Set how far in advance clients can book (in days) and the minimum notice you need (in hours). Clients can only pick times inside that window.
Can clients pay when they book online?
Yes. In Website > Payments, choose whether online bookings require no payment, a deposit, or full payment. Card payments are processed through Stripe. You can also choose whether prices are shown on your page.
How do I share my booking page?
The Home tab shows a card with your booking link. Copy it from there or from Website settings and add it to your Instagram bio, TikTok, or anywhere clients find you.
Can I set a cancellation policy?
Yes. In Website > Terms and policies, write your cancellation policy and terms so clients see them when booking.
Payments & Invoices
How do I connect Stripe?
Go to Profile > My Work > Website and open the Payments section. Tap Connect and finish the Stripe onboarding steps. The section shows your connection status.
What can clients pay online?
Deposits or full payments by card, depending on your settings. Booking deposits support custom amounts, quotes can include a deposit, and invoices can be paid online.
How do invoices work?
Invoices are attached to bookings. Open a booking to view its invoice, record payment, or void it. When Stripe is connected, the client can pay the invoice online.
Can I add tax?
Yes. Optional tax settings let your totals include tax where you need it.
Do I need Stripe to use the app?
No. You can run bookings, quotes, and invoices without Stripe and collect payment however you like. Stripe is only needed for online card payments.
Agreements & Intake Forms
How do booking agreements work?
Attach your terms to a booking and send them to the client. The client verifies their identity with a one-time code emailed to them, then accepts the terms or signs electronically. A signed PDF is stored with the booking, and the app keeps a record of the exact terms that were accepted.
Can clients sign contracts electronically?
Yes. Booking agreements support electronic signatures verified by an emailed one-time code. Both you and the client get the signed PDF.
How do intake forms work?
Build form templates from Profile > My Work > Intake Forms using text, dropdown, paragraph, and checkbox fields. Set one as your default, send it to a client before the appointment, and review the submission when it comes back.
Where do I see intake form responses?
Open the booking the form was sent from, or open Intake Forms from My Work to view submissions.
Portfolio
How do I add portfolio photos?
Go to Profile > My Work > Portfolio and tap +. Upload photos from your camera or photo library.
Can I control which photos are public?
Yes. Each image has its own public or private setting. Private images are only visible to you.
What photos should I publish?
Use work you have permission to share. Public images represent your business to potential clients, so lead with your strongest recent work.
Notifications & Troubleshooting
Does the app work offline?
Your data is cached on the device, so screens stay readable without a connection. The app syncs again when your connection returns.
Where do notifications appear?
Tap the bell on the Home tab to open the notification center. You get push notifications for updates like new bookings and quote activity.
How do I enable push notifications?
Allow notifications when the app asks, use the prompt on the Home tab, or turn them on in iOS Settings > Notifications > MUA Studio.
Why is my data not updating?
Check your connection and pull to refresh. If you were offline, the app shows cached data until it can sync.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@muastudio.co with what you were trying to do, what happened, and the screen you were on. Screenshots help us fix issues faster.
Account & Subscription
How do I sign in?
Sign in with your account email. If you forget your password, use the reset option and we will email you a password reset link.
What does the free plan include?
The free plan includes the core features with limits on how many clients, bookings, and services you can have.
What does Pro include?
Pro removes the free plan limits on clients, bookings, and services. You subscribe inside the app and billing is handled by the App Store.
How do I manage or restore my subscription?
Open the subscription section on the Profile tab. Subscriptions are billed and managed through your App Store account, and you can restore a previous purchase from the same screen.
Can I run more than one business?
Yes. Use the business switcher on the Profile tab to move between businesses.
Can I add team members?
Business owners can view their team roster with each member's role and status. Team invitations are coming soon.
What devices does MUA Studio run on?
MUA Studio is available for iPhone on the App Store (iOS 17 or later) and for Android on Google Play.
Is MUA Studio on Android?
Yes. MUA Studio is available for Android on Google Play.
How do I delete my account?
Use the account deletion request form. We verify your identity by email before permanently deleting your account and data, typically within 7 days. Deletion cannot be undone.
